THE ASCENT to the peak of the Zugspitze – Mental training and day-hike
On July 27-28th, 2012 a very special motivational seminar and mountain adventure will take place for the first time. The seminar is held in English and the seminar room is the 18 kilometers long trail up to the Zugspitze summit.
Just as the quotation by Samy Molcho states, “Our brains can implement only what our body has experienced”, the motivational expert Thomas Schlechter combines the mental exercises with the march to the peak. The exercises are mental techniques taken from professional sports and will be carried out at selected energy spots on the way to the summit.
The specific mental preparation is the added advantage of this extreme hiking event. On the evening before, mental and technical instruction will take place in a workshop. The focus of the workshop is on the mental skills that are necessary to successfully reach the summit. Here mental training and a nature experience are linked into a effective transfer experience which will probably last a lifetime. Exercises especially matched to the mountain route, mobilise hidden reserves.
The ascent of the Zugspitze from Ehrwald shall be accomplished in one day in about 8 hours. The physical and mental challenge lies in the route profile. “Anyone with an average physical condition can ascend the Zugspitze. It is more a mental than a physical challenge. The important thing is to overcome one’s own weaker self,” says the event organizer, Thomas Schlechter.

The mountain guides divide the participants in groups based on their physical abilities. The route is then chosen accordingly. Especially the last part of the climb requires sure-footedness and participants must be free from dizziness at higher altitudes Whoever wants to tackle the entire route, must be capable of hiking briskly for 6.5 hours at a time.
The reward at the end is tremendous. Standing at the peak and knowing that you did it on your own is a great feeling. And as a bonus you get the boundless panorama over Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy from the highest mountain in Germany.

Friday 6.30-10.00 PM: Mental workshop in the Hotel Sonnenspitze, Ehrwald
Saturday 7.00 AM: Start hike up the Zugspitze from Ehrwald
Saturday 7.00 PM: Post-hike dinner in the Hotel Sonnenspitze
Participation Fee: 198,- Euros per participant (introductory price) incl. 20% VAT, net = 165,- Euros
Services included: Seminar moderation and mountain guide, cable car ride down with the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn, dinner at concluding evening, seminar notes, certificate of participation.
Not included: Hotel reservation(accomodation), travel to location, drinks at concluding dinner. Every participant is responsible for their own provisions and drinks during the hike.

Registration and confirmation: You will receive a registration confirmation about 2-3 days after receipt of the written registration and the fee has been paid in full to the bank account. A week before the beginning of the event, we will send you further information. Cancellations must be in written form. Any cancellations up to three weeks prior to start of the seminar will be charged a 30% cancellation fee. If the cancellation is any closer to the start date, the full amount must be paid and will not be refunded. No cancellation charges will be charged if a substitute participant is sent. Pre-requisite for participation is a healthy physical and psychological condition which does not put participant or others in danger and participant must have reached their 18th birthday.
